Video calling will be available soon on X (formerly Twitter)

 Why is Twitter called X?

It recommended that news sources refer to the organization and its virtual entertainment stage as "X, previously known as Twitter." Mr. Musk had laid the basis for the name change for quite a while. At the point when he purchased Twitter last year, he framed another parent organization, X Corp., for the exchange.

X Corp Chief Linda Yaccarino showed in a meeting the element would carry out soon.

Initially, Twitter famous for;

Twitter is a help for companions, family, and collaborators to convey and remain associated through the trading of speedy, continuous messages. Individuals post Tweets, which might contain photographs, recordings, connections, and text. These messages are presented on your profile, shipped off your adherents, and are accessible on Twitter search.

Key points to note here;
  • CEO confirmed that it will bring a video/audio calling feature as all other social media platforms nowadays.
  • it does not need a phone number for calling features same as Instagram and Snapchat
  • it will bring tough competition to already existing platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTICE ?

Well in order to answer this question, we need to closely look at what X team is comprised of and what are their future visions. Currently is owned by Elon Musk who is the World's richest man at the moment.

if we look at the career summary of Elon Musk, here what we found;

  1. X(Twitter):  Twitter is a free social networking site where users broadcast short posts known as tweets. These tweets can contain text, videos, photos, or links.

  2. Paypal: PayPal Holdings, Inc. is a multinational financial technology company operating an online payments system in the majority of countries that support online money transfers and serves as an electronic alternative to traditional paper methods such as checks and money orders. The company operates as a payment processor for online vendors, auction sites, and many other commercial users, for which it charges a fee.
  3. SpaceX: an American spacecraft manufacturer, launch service provider, and satellite communications company
  4. TESLA: an American multinational automotive and clean energy company that designs and manufactures electric vehicles (cars and trucks), stationary battery energy storage devices from home to grid-scale, solar panels and solar roof tiles, and related products and services.
  5. STARLINK: The company offers commercial satellite-based internet service via its constellation of Starlink satellites, which became the largest-ever satellite constellation in January 2020 and as of June 2023 comprised more than 4,300 small satellites in orbits.
In each of these platforms, we witness a high level of professionalism and a mission to be a global leader in its competition and aim to bring positive change to society.

For example, if we highlight some keynotes;
  • Paypal makes the world a reliable digitally connected global village innovating from traditional currency notes and paper cheques.
  • Twitter is such a platform where world leaders come and discuss their opinion and their voice are heard throughout the world.
  • SpaceX giving the world hope to travel  next planet with safety and reliability
  • Tesla progressing the global warming-affected world toward a more sustainable and eco-friendly mode of communications
  • Starlink provides internet to each and everyone out there to be digitally connected to the world regardless of what so ever circumstances he/she may be. we witness its usage in war-affected areas of Ukraine.
In a nutshell, we can say if X is aiming at bringing something to its customer it will make it to the next level and in the end bring more options to the consumer. we may experience better competition and good video/audio quality and in case of emergency satellite connectivity as well.
